چکیده

To the Editor, The Indian Medical Gazette Dear Sir,?After having read the notes on the dangers of exhaust fumes, in the British Medical Journal of 3rd December, 1932, I am tempted to write about a similar incident in this country. In Petlad in the month of May there was a marriage procession which I attended. In the procession the bride and the bridegroom were sitting in a motor car. All the ladies that followed were just behind the car, and, as is common in processions, it moved slowly, stopping every few yards. The engine of the car was naturally kept running. Designing, Constructing and Installing a Local Exhaust Ventilation System to Minimize Welders\' Exposure to Welding Fumes

Background & Aims of the Study: Welder’s exposure to welding fumes can cause occupational diseases. The current study sought to examine exposure to welding fumes among welders who work in the repair shop of Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex and design a local exhaust ventilation system to control exposure to welding fumes. Materials & Methods: This applied analytical study was co...

age of cases is diagnosis made early enough for surgery to be curative. The survey results here presented represent a limited effort at a separate evaluation of the major factors most closely asso ciated with the disease incidence and indicate the likelihood of a contributing role for motor exhaust fumes. The finger of suspicion has now been pointed at three types of pollution: cigarette smoke,...

Development of a light sensing self-adjusting hood for welding fumes.

Recently, the incidence of pneumoconiosis due to inhalation of welding fumes has become increasingly remarkable in Japan. Although several engineering methods such as local exhaust ventilation, push-pull ventilation and general (dilution) ventilation have been preferred for controlling airborne contaminants released from welding work, thorough reduction of the welder’s exposure to welding fumes...

here are six main classes of gaseous contaminants which are routinely described in Tautomotive exhaust (a term which will be used here to refer to both automobile and diesel exhaust). As shown in Table 1, carbon monoxide (CO) is the largest component of automobile exhaust whereas the oxides of nitrogen (NO ) constitute the main components of diesel exhaust. x Even though nitrogen oxides contrib...
